Jammu, Mar 21: A Special Police Officer (SPO) posted in Gazetted Officers (GO) Mess, today morning succumbed to his burn injuries at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) where he was being hospitalized. Police sources said, "The deceased has been identified as Darshan Lal son of Late Wasi Ram of Maheshpura Bakshi Nagar."
"The victim was under treatment after he reportedly had received burn injuries on Thursday when his clothes caught in flames with a lighting lamp at his residence, police sources said.
He was immediately shifted to GMC&H where doctors stated that he had received 100 per cent burns.
"Today during treatment, he failed to respond the treatment and breathed his last early morning, they added. Police sources said that after legal formalities, the body was handed over to family members for last rites. Meanwhile the concerned police have taken cognizance in this regard. |
