| Omar creating PDP-Cong divide on false, presumed notions | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 22: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah is consciously and desperately trying to create wedge between People’s Democratic Party and Congress on assumed notions. Omar fears that even a slight chance of any possibility of their coming together could send him packing from the State politics. Omar, assuming that PDP patron had criticized the Congress twetted : "the fact that Mufti Sayeed is praising the NDA and criticising the Cong means he has accepted that his efforts to play footsie with Cong failed." The fact is Mufti in his press conference had not openly critcised Cong but had infact said that Omar Abdullah could not carry forward the peace initiatives taken first by AB Vajpayee and then by the UPA Government. Mufti had only categorically praised Vajpayee. The fact is that Omar had also publicly not only praised Vajpayee but was even Minister in the NDA Government even when the Gujarat had taken place and didn't resign when Ram Vilas Paswan had parted ways. According to sources, Omar had got a whiff that Cong may part ways with him after the parliamentary elections as he (Omar) had opened channels of communication with the BJP through a senior BJP leader, who is close to Dr Farooq Abdullah. Sources said Cong has taken serious note of it and is contemplating action but is awaiting the outcome of the elections. It's for this reason, Omar had in a carefully crafted plan is making statements and directing his cadre to the same that PDP has openly become an alliance of the BJP, which is devoid of the fact. Importantly, the entire election campaign of the NC based on presenting a fabricated theory that BJP and PDP are one entity and this could be dangerous for the state. The NC is trying to create a fear psychosis that BJP is anti-Muslim entity and the future of Muslim is in danger if it comes to power especially the Narendra Modi and PDP by being partner with it is playing against the interests of the Muslims and is acting against this community. NC is banking on negative campaigning as it has done in the past just to remain in the power, while further alienating the Kashmir people from the national mainstream for its petty political power game. |
