| SCWC stages protest against Govt, alleges discrimination | | | Early Times Report
BHADERWAH, Mar 22: Senior Citizen Welfare Council (SCWC), Bhaderwah today staged a protest demonstration and public rally here in Bhaderwah in favour of their long pending demands which included creation of more blocks and district status to Bhaderwah.
The protesters in the rally alleged that government ignored all the facts related to Bhaderwah and deprived Athkar , Chinta and Chakra Bhati area from tehsil and block status. The protesters said that Bhaderwah needed district status being a very vast Tehsil and said before the independence Bhaderwah was a full-fledged state .The protesters which included the people from Chinta , Bhalra , Athkar , Sartingal ,Nalthi , Seri , Kaloo , Domial , Amira nagar , Dherja and other parts of the town said that if their demand is not met, all the village representative in the area will submit their resignations.
They said that they will start massive agitation if Tehsil and block status along with district status is not accorded to the Bhaderwah .The protest and demonstration along with public meeting held under the chairmanship of Senior Citizen Welfare Council President Bhagat Singh Manhas along with leaders and workers of 38 political and non political organisations of Baderwah .People from different areas arrived at Bhaderwah in shape of rallies included from Chinta while raising slogans in favour of their demands and ply cards in their hands. "Despite qualifying as per the recommendations of the various Committees Bhaderwah Athkar, Chinta ,Bhalra ,Chakra Bhati has been neglected. |
