| Secular, visionary regime of Mufti highlighted | | | Early Times Report Rajouri, Mar 22: Senior PDP leader Shahzad Khan conducted a number of meetings in the rural areas of Saaj, Nerojal, Mangota, Azamtabad, Doodasan Basan, Kundan, Baryoon, Rajdhani, , etc. in view of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections wherein he emphasized the judicious, secular and visionary regime of the Mufti Sayeed government. In a press release Shahzad said that the Mufti Sayeed regime was the golden era in the history of the state and time has come to reestablish the era for a developed and peaceful state again. Urging the people to vote for PDP, he said the time has come for change and that the PDP is the only party that will bring the change and reestablish a judicious and development oriented governance in J&K with equal development in all regions. Shahzad said throughout history it is a known fact that Pir Panjal region has been discriminated against and now with Yashpal Sharma, PDP candidate for Lok Sabha, a very tall leader and son of soil, people have the opportunity to undo the injustice by electing him. He said only he has the capability of raising the issues of the people at the central level. He said that Yashpal Sharma is highly dedicated towards the welfare and development of the people as well as the region. Shahzad said that the rail link between Jammu and Poonch was initiated and the feasibility ensured and also subsequently approved but just on the pretext of high cost factor it was shelved. He said that the present government has always discriminated against the people of Pir Panjal region. There is also a need of air travel facility for the people of the region but despite having an airstrip, which used to operate earlier, nothing is being done to restore it. Others present included Rashid Khan, Qassim Shah, Roshal Shah, Abdul Ghani, Fareed Manhas, Tony, Tuffail Hussain, etc.
