Jammu, Apr 27: A one day workshop on 'Nutrition Screening and Diet Counselling of College Going Girls' was conducted at GCW Parade, Jammu, by Indian Dietetic Association in collaboration with P.G Department of Home Science. Nutritional Status of about 50 girls was assessed by BMI, Dietary intake and Clinical examination. Nutrition Counseling was given to them. Principal, Dr. Hemla Aggarwal, chaired the session. She appreciated the efforts of P.G Department of Home Science for conducting such meaningful programmes. She also appreciated the display of diet charts prepared by the students. Prof. Aruna Dubey welcomed the participants and dignitaries on the occasion. Dr.Vasanta Kohli Consultant, Dietetics & Therapeutic gave a brief speech on the importance of the programme s he emphasised the importance of balanced diet, in maintaining good health and active lifestyle. This was followed by a lecture by Safurti Gujral, dietician. She gave important tips on Diet to be followed to keep the liver healthy. Dr. Vikramjeet Kaur and Dr. Harpreet conducted the clinical examination. A team of dieticians, members of IDA, interacted with the students and counseled them on healthy diet. |
