Jammu, Apr 27: The annual bhandara of Peer Hazarat Rehmat Meera Shah Ji was organized with great festivity at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. Thousands of devotees took part in this bhandara. This annual bhandara of Kukhran Biradari has become a symbol of secularism as people from all religions like Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian took part with religious fervor. Peer Hazrat Rehmat Meera Shah Ji was from Behran Mayani, district Shahpur, Pakistan & before partition of India & Pakistan this annual feature was organized there. But after the partition of India-Pakistan, this tradition is followed here at their place at Gandhi Nagar. According to the Ram Anand, who is gaddhi-nashin at Peer Baba Gandhi Nagar, Peer Hazrat Rehmat Meera Shah Ji also known as Hazarat Meera Mojhe Dariya is a living example of secularism & people have great faith in Babaji. Every year in the month of April annual bhandara is organized & since 1999 it is a regular feature. Before this bhandara, on 24 April, an annual bhandara was organized by Kukhran biradari at Panj Peer, Manda near Hari Palace, Jammu as a mark of gratitude, he added. This bhandara is organized on first Thursday of Poornima & on the very next Sunday the annual bhandara is organized at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. |
