Srinagar, Apr 27: Demanding foolproof security for the employees on election duty, Pradesh Congress Committee Vice President and MLC Ghulam Nabi Monga today expressed sympathy to the family of the polling officer, who lost his life during the conduct of his official dutyon Thursday in Shopian.
In a statement Monga said, "It is duty of the government to ensure the safety and security of its employees who put their lives at risk to hold elections in the state." He assured the employees that Congress party will do whatever is possible for the benefit of the employees.
The Congress leader also expressed his sympathy with the bereaved family of Zia-ul-Haq, a teacher, who was killed in a militant attack in Shopian after the polling was over. |
