| As darbar moves out, Jammu left with dilapidated roads, dug out by-lanes | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 27: As the darbar has moved out of Jammu for six months, the National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) has left the city to the mercy of God and people have been left to suffer. It was few days back when move offices were preparing to leave for Srinagar, the NBCC started digging of roads in Jammu city. This agency has been digging the Jammu city roads for past five years but hasn't completed the process, which has caused great disturbance to the life in the city. The digging of roads and laying of sewerage pipes was a two-year project but now five years have passed and project is still far from completion. "We have been suffering but government is not doing anything to mitigate our problems. This is not done that every summer we are left to face dug roads and by-lanes. Even walking has become difficult," said Akash Kumar, a resident of Rajinder Bazar. Since last year when the circular road was dug and pipes were laid, there is no respite for people living around. Even the vehicles get damaged due to the uneven road in the area. The roads and buildings department had to macadamize the area but due to lack of funds NBCC was asked to do that but the agency hasn't done anything. This circular road is the easiest way to go to Sidra by pass, Panjtirthi from Deputy Commissioner's office but people have been left to suffer. The localities around the circular road have suffered a lot due to dust but government is yet to take cognizance of gross inconvenience to public. |
