JAMMU, May 12: Vishal Ghai won the men's singles table tennis title beating Manandeep Singh (3-2) in a well contested final of the Ist Stag Jammu Open Championship, organised by Stage Table Tennis Academy, here today.
Winning the opening two close sets, Vishal lost the following to find the score leveled at 2-2. However, he clinched the decider playing a sensible game. The score: 11-09, 11-09, 08-11, 09-11, 11-07. The sub-junior boys' singles title went to Anant Rohmetra, who defeated Hamumant 3-2 (11-07, 09-11, 11-08, 06-11, 11-07).
In mixed doubles event the pair of Shzar and Ritvik trounced the duo of Chandpreet and Vishal Ghai 13-11, 12-14, 11-09.
In the finals and prize distribution function, senior gymnastics coach of the State Sports Council, Arjuna Awardee, Krupali Singh Patel was chief guest.
Among the special guests present were Sanjay Wahi, Ramesh Magotra, Jatinder Kaur, Renuka Thussu, Manmeet Kaur, Sanjeev Bhandari, Inder Pal Singh, Maninder Singh and Satbir Singh.
