Jammu, May 12: Delivering first installment of poetic justice to the victim Smaira alias Gurpreet Kour, Rajouri police today produced challan in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Rajouri against Dr Javid Choudhary and his family members after completing investigations.
Police sources said that following a complaint lodged by Smaira alias Gurpreet Kour, a case was registered under section 376/406, 420/379, 120-B RPC in 2012 at P/S Rajouri. "The Cahallan was produced against Dr Javid Choudhary his father Modh Abdullah, mother Isam Begum and uncle of Nisar Choudhary all resident of village Nadian Darhal", the sources said.
Health Department had already terminated services of Dr Javid Iqbal, B-Grade Specialist, who was posted at CHC Darhal. Samaira, a Chandigarh-based Sikh girl who converted to Islam in August 2010 to marry him Dr Javid Iqbal, has been seeking legal action against the doctor, claims that the she has approached to State Health Department for justice but nothing is being done. According to Gurpreet she was unaware Javid's family and religion when she met him (Dr Javid).
"Javid had spent her money. He used to spend lakhs of rupees on his shopping and flight tickets every month. He promised to marry her but exploited her physically and financially," Samaira had alleged.
Four years after being in the relationship, Javed who is now a suspended Grade- B surgeon at Darhal in Rajouri, left the girl and snapped all contacts with her. Samaira has filed an FIR against Javed alleging rape on July 31, 2010.
Later, he had managed to convince her promising marriage and they got married in August, 2010 according to Muslim rituals. "Soon after the marriage, he started exploiting me. I winded up my business in Chandigarh. He forced me to buy a piece of land worth Rs 22 lakh in his name since I did not have a state subject. My jewellery worth lakhs is also in his possession", said Samaira. She alleged that Javed used to beat her and also forced her to commit suicide.
It is pertinent to mention here that daughter of a former IAS officer, Samaira was running a successful immigration business in Chandigarh when she met Javid, an MS student at PGI, Chandigarh, who first introduced himself as Amit. But after three months, Samaira came to know that he was a Gujjar boy from Rajouri. The victim said she was trapped by Doctor Javed by impersonating himself as Dr Amit Sharma doing Masters in surgery. After having developed physical relations with the girl, he dumped her and went back to Rajouri from Chandigarh.
