| DSRS authorities invite forms from eligible candidates for PhD programme | | | Bivek Mathur JAMMU, May 12: In yet another impact of Early Times report on the messy state of affairs in Department for Strategic and Regional Studies (DSRS), Jammu University, the department has issued notification inviting forms from the eligible candidate for the research course. Pertinently, ET had published a report titled title- "Ishar's Amritsariya Lobby playing with future of Jammu youth, M.Phil pass outs of DSRS awaiting admission in PhD since 2010." However, the notification has not been uploaded by the department till now on the University website but ET has come to know from sources about such a notification where eligible candidates who have completed their MA in Economics, Political Science, Sociology or M.Phil or MA in the Strategic and Regional Studies or those who have qualified NET, SET with JRF in these subjects are invited by the department to compete for the seven seats of Ph.D from Jammu University. The process of submission of documents will start from this month following which the eligible candidates will be shortlisted for the Ph.D course. The students of the department have expressed their thanks to Early Times both telephonically as well as verbally for highlighting such irregularities in the University. Pertinently ET had reported the favouritism of VC Jammu University MPS Ishar for the faculty members who had earlier worked with him at GNDU Amritsar and now working at Jammu University. ET in its report had also reported about some faculty members who are not even eligible for teaching at the DSRS, JU as some of them are not Ph.D in the subject but they are being remunerated heavily by the authorities. The ET report had also highlighted about few professors who have not guided any scholar since 2010 for the Ph.D programme and are being extended favours by the Vice Chancellor because of his acquaintance with these faculty members and their Amritsar connection. |
