JAMMU, May 12 : Demanded implementation of 'one person, one post' principle in Jammu University administration, the Jammu Students Morcha (JSM) appealed the Vice Chancellor to do away with the practice of dual postings for the varsity staff. Addressing media persons here today, Vijay Kumar State President JSM, said that senior professors were calling the shots as they had been holding more than one prized posting since long, notwithstanding it was upsetting the normal functioning of the varsity. "As per norms, one man should hold one post only. And what is happening on the campus is contrary to the rules. A group of professors occupies more than three or more key posts which eventually affect the students as well as administrative functioning of the varsity," Vijay said. "Instead of adhocism and giving additional charge to some favorites, the Vice-Chancellor should go for a viable solution by filling these posts on permanent basis," he said. "We fail to understand that how a person occupying more than one post delivers justice with the administration as well as the students," Kumar said while questioning the rationale behind such move. He demanded that the need of the hour is to decentralize powers. It is highly condemnable that some professors have been given prized positions at the cost of normal functioning of the university. We appeal the Chancellor of University to take cognizance of it and initiate measures to streamline the functioning. |
