Jammu, May 12 : Akhil Bhartiya Vidyarthi Pariad (ABVP) Jammu university unit today held a Vijay Rally to celebrate their win over their long pending demands which University authorities admitted yesterday raising slogans like Bharat Mata ki Jai, ABVP Zindabad. Students gathered in number near fountain with the beats of Dhol and moved department to department to greet every student for the victory. Awani Varma, ABVP Jammu University President said the Jammu university authorities enhanced the hostel fee by 85% which was in violation of the Jammu University statutes but now recommendation Committee which was constituted to look into the matter has agreed the demands of students after going through the statutes.He also said after agitating for 59 days, Jammu University authorities bent before the students and now they will pay back Rs. 1700/- to each student residing in hostels for the session 2013-14 and they will not enhance fee for the session 2014-15. The leaders of the students' organization also said that the JU authorities will pay back the money after the constitution of inquiry committee whom they have charged more than the actual amount. ABVP members distributed sweets among the students to celebrate their victory. Others who were part of the Vijay Rally were Akhil, Binny, Bhaviya, Vial, Hitewar, Jatin, Ajay, Anil, Raje, Amit, Deepak,Sanjay and others. |
