| PAF slams PDD for enhanced power cuts | | | Early Times Report
Kithwar, May 12 : Shakir Siddiqui, President Public Awareness Front Kishtwar in a press statement issued today has taken strong note of Power Development Department (PDD) for making long curtailment of power in the morning extended upto three and half hours in district Kitwar. Siddiqui in the statement further said that this autocratic step of Power Develoment Department Kitwar has been affecting the studies of students who wake up in dawn to learn but find themselves helpless without power. He said that hour power cuts a day can not be justified. Sidiqui urged the Executive Engineer PDD Kishtwar to look into the matter with the eye of student and take this curtailment schedule back. He said that Mid night cuts also make direct impact on student studies.
Siddiqui said during morning hours students and office going people face acute problems as they find themselves constrained to pest on un-ironed clothes as power is cut in wee hours and it returns as late as 9:30 a.m. when they start for their respective schools and offices. Disclosing that a group of students approached him with the request to take up the issue with PDD as he has been taking up issues of public significance with the concerned authorities. Siddiqui has urged the authorities at the helm of affairs to follow the curtailment schedule which is currently applicable at divisional level and desist from devising own power curtailment schedule.
He in his statement also laed out at BSNL authorities for their poor services being extended to BSNL subscribers and customers. He urged the concerned authorities to mend their way or face the BSNL authorities to immediately start 3G services in this circle as the same is already in force in other areas. |
