Jammu, May 12: Tightening the noose around some executive members of Hindu Education Society Kashmir (HESK) for allegedly misappropriating Rs 45 lakhs from the society's account, High Court Jammu sent the case to Crime Branch for further investigation and directed to file FIR incase allegations found true. The order was passed by the court on the complaint of Avtar Krishan Dewani & Others versus Anil Dhar and others filed by P N Goja, senior advocate. Earlier the case was in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) in 2012 which had also ordered Crime Branch inquiry into the case which was later challenged by the accused and got stay on the ground that CJM cannot order CB inquiry as per law. The case was then filed in the session court by the complainants which after nearly two gave its directions to CB for investigating the case. In their complaint Dewani and others alleged that the accused have without approval of the Executive Body of the society have withdrawn and misappropriated Rs 45 lakh from account of the society lying in Central Bank of India, Talab Tillo Branch Extension Counter and shown to have been advanced to one Dileep Singh, whose particulars are unknown. They said that on April 24, 2011 Rs 5 lakh were withdrawn from the account number of Hindu Education Society Kashmir (HESK) which is managing the Gandhi College. It was followed by withdrawal of Rs 5 lakh each on April 27, 2011, June 27, 2011, June 28, 2011, June 30 2011 and July 1, 2011. Besides the withdrawal of Rs 30 lakh, Rs 15 lakh have been also withdrawn by the accused within a period of one month. In the complaint it was further mentioned that the accused had admitted that the amount was paid for effecting the mutation of the purchased land which stands duly recorded in minutes of the meeting of the General Council of the society held on April 13 this year as well as 70th meeting of the Executive Body of the Society when in fact an expenditure of only Rs 24,000 as per the Government rules are incurred for the same purpose. Prominent among others who were present included Amjad Bhatt (State Vice-President NSUI,J&K), Kaamal Magotra (State General Secretary, NSUI, J&K), Avjyot Singh (State General Secretary, NSUI ,J&K), Choudhary Naseeb Ali (National Delegate) among others. |
