| Another front rises for safeguarding rights of refugees | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 7: Criticising former refugee leaders and their credentials in safeguarding the interest of different refugees settled here in peripherals of Jammu, another front has got birth today in Jammu under the name PoK Refugees Rights and Rehabilitation Forum. A group of young refugee leaders from Poonch to Kathua today floated this forum and strongly crtiticised Labha Ram Gandhi and Rajiv Chunni and alleged these leaders of rampant corruption and ignoring the interests of the refugees who are since long battling for their rights. This group described all these leaders as opportunists and said that for self interest, these self styled leaders can align with anyone and any political party and appealed the refugees not to fell prey to these vested interests. The forum promised one time settlement for the refugees, reservation in professional colleges, Government jobs and legislature. The forum also appealed to open traditional routes Nowshera Mirpur and R.S Pura Sialkot and requested all refugee organization to come under one banner and fight for the humanitarian cause of the refugees. Those who spoke on the occasion include Vijay Sharma, Advocate Ashish Sharma, Adv Ashwani Sharma, Adv Nitin Sharma, Adv Ajit Verma and Adv Tahir. |
