Director Health activates men, machinery as victim seeks justice

Anantnag, June 7: A day after Srinagar police formally registered a case of molestation against the Director Health Services Kashmir and three other district level officers of the department for allegedly molesting a staff nurse, Dr Salim-ur-Rehman, key accused in the molestation case today allegedly activated its men and machinery for enacting a protest drama.
Ironically, Doctors, Paramedical staff left their duties while breaching the administrative rules for pleasing their top boss who is the soap and blindly termed the registration of FIR against the four officers highly deplorable and condemnable that too on stage when police had not even actually started the investigation.
In Anantnag Field Doctors Association held a protest demo and termed the registration of FIR highly deplorable and condemnable. Association while pleasing their top bosses termed the accused honest, upright virtuous.
"The complainant belongs to South Kashmir and has a bad track record and has found misbehaving with her colleagues and officers at various places of her posting." An issued statement of the association reads. Government Pharmict Association, Medical employees Association and co-ordination committee of all health association also condemned the allegation of the victim leveled on all four health officer. They also termed the incident as fabricated. Protest drama enacted by doctors, paramedical staff stands nailed as victim released a confession letter signed by one of the accused.
In the confession letter, Accused Assistant Medical surgeon Dr Mohd Ashraf confesses to have harassed the nurse sexually. "Today on 17/04/2013 I Dr Ashraf apologize for the wrong doing and in future I will never try to torture physically, mentally and sexually."
Confession letter read. However the Early Times can't claim the authenticity of the letter released by the victim. Victim told Early Times that after the passage of day's police had not initiated action against the culprits besides she had recorded her statement before three IPS officers. "It happen only Kashmir that rape accused gets promoted." She said, adding she was not expecting any justice from the minister who is himself involved the molestation case. She said that fair investigation into the case can unearth a big sex racket in which top officers and ministers are involved. It is important to mention here that Police registered an FIR of sexual assault on the complaint of a female nurse against Director Health Saleem-ur-Rehman, CMO Anantnag Dr Nazir Shehdad, BMO Sallar Dr Irshad Tak and Assistant Medical surgeon Dr Ashraf.
