Early Times Report
Jammu, June 7: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah's alleged secret meeting with the employees' leaders of Kashmir division while showering sops upon them and holding back Jammu employees aspirations have drawn sever criticism from the employees here.
Different employees' leaders of Jammu Province questioned Chief Minister's 'morality audience' to Kashmir province employees on their demands while ignoring the Jammu employees and said that such exercise seems to be an apparent pointer towards polarization of the issue as envisaged himself by the head of the state.
They inquired from the Chief Minister as how can employee leaders of Kashmir province can represent those in Jammu province and alleged that their problems are still unfulfilled.
Among the problems they highlighted were removal of pay anomalies of the clerical cadre and others, regularization of daily rated workers, casual labourers, adhoc and contractual workers, enhancement of medical allowance from Rs. 300 per month to Rs. 1000 per month, release of pending 10% D.A instalment in cash among other problems.
Pertinently the meeting was held between the Chief Minister and the employee's leaders in the Banquet Hall at Srinagar on 03.06.2014 and the leaders of Jammu region alleged that on the same day, some Kashmir based leaders like Qayoom Wani deliberately did not highlight the problems being faced by the employees of Jammu region.
Among those who were present in the press conference included Babu Hussain Malik, Sushil Sudan, Subash Verma, Suresh Kumar, Prem Singh Bawa, Yashpal Sharma, Bharat Bushan, Parshotam Sharma, Maheshwar Singh, Darshan Magotra, Rinku Gill, Anoop Singh Dubey, Kartar Chand and others. All the members appealed to the Chief Minister of the State to remove the attitude of blind discrimination with the leadership of Jammu Division and warned the state government not to compel them for a coercive battle in future if their demands are not met.
