| Desperate NC all out to create problems for PDP | | | Shakeel A Khan
SRINAGAR, June 19: Having realized that it was down and out, the NC leadership is taking decisions to create problems for the PDP which is likely to form the next government. The ruling National Conference has taken decisions like enhancement in the retirement age, relaxation in the upper age limit and service benefits to the thousands of the teachers under Rehbar-e-Taleem scheme. "If the government can't pay the contractors for their work which they did, how can it meet the demands of the in service and of the aspirants. If the government is unable to pay the sum which is just in thousands, how can it give monetary benefits which account for billions of rupees," said some contractors at Srinagar while talking to the Early Times,". These people said that the people in power are on the run and are doing all these things as their last minute effort to confuse the voters before the coming assembly elections so as to make them believe that ' all is well, that ends well'. As per these contractors, these acts are aimed to cheat the innocents. Going by the trend, the people are eager to see the political change in the state and the measures and packages as announced by the government are not going to change the course. The people have given up the traditional thoughts and seem committed to bring the revolution. "It has been wisely said that 'a drowning man catches at a straw'. Same is the position of the people in power, who are seen dancing to the tunes these days. All of a sudden the people in power seem to have developed affairs with people only to win their favors in the upcoming assembly elections," said Mohammad Ashraf Bhat from Budgam while sharing his ideas with the Early Times. Ashraf went on saying that only till yesterday the people in power expressed their helplessness to solve the problems of the people. According to Ashraf, if people in power could not solve the problems of the people in the six years, how are they going to do all this in the time of two months only? As per Ashraf, people are no longer ignorant and arrogant. The people, according to Ashraf, have learnt bitter lessons in the last six year and are very keen to see a change on the political front of the state. The people will experience a sweet change very soon, Ashraf said with confidence. |
