BJP stalwart Ashok Khajuria, who was in the firing line of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, was forced by the party leadership to clear his position before the media.
Credible sources in BJP said that party leadership was shell shocked when Chief Minister had openly exposed BJP leaders for the proximity with National Conference especially Dr Farooq Abdullah. Party leadership, which is hoping to perform well in the coming Assembly elections, had directed Ashok Khajuria to clear his picture before the media. It was all due to directions from the leadership that Khajuria came to rebut Chief Minister's allegations. It is another question whether Khajuria had successfully rebutted Chief Minister's allegations or not but one thing is clear that BJP leadership has realised that party's image was badly damaged after that episode. |
