| Omar's sensational exposure gives new life to "dead" Congress | | Party to raise issue of selling out of Amarnath agitation | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 19: Sensational exposure of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah regarding large scale "misdeeds" of BJP leaders has given a new life to the virtually dead Congress in Jammu and Kashmir. The bombshell exploded by Chief Minister a couple of days back during an official function has emboldened Congress to expose BJP before the masses in the coming Assembly elections. Credible sources in the Congress said that after Chief Minister's exposure party leadership has decided to launch an offensive against BJP for selling Jammu's interests just for their own personal benefits. Congress leadership has asked its Ministers in the Government to use their influence to get information about out of way benefits got by the BJP leaders from 1996 to till date from National Conference leadership. Credible sources said that some BJP leaders have taken undue benefits from the successive Governments to flourish their business and adjust their kith and kin in different Government departments. Congress leadership has asked its Ministers to use their offices to get lists of all such BJP leaders and undue benefits they have taken from the National Conference Governments, from time to time, by sacrificing general interests of the common masses of Jammu region. Following directions of party leadership, the Congress Ministers have decided to utilize their offices to get information about postings and positions of kin of some of the BJP leaders who are known for their proximity with National Conference. Congress leadership has also decided to raise the issue of "selling out" of Amarnath agitation by some of the BJP leaders had sold the agitation by signing the agreement without caring interests of the business community of Jammu region and family members of those who lost their lives in the agitation. |
