| Absence of Collector Land Acquisition (Def) adds woes to locals seeking PRCs | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, June 19: The local populace from Rajouri district and particularly the people from Sunderbani and Noushera tehsils allegedly have been facing problems in their official works related to 'Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs) after Collector Land Acquisition (Defence) has been deputed as Camp Officer for Shri Amar nath yatra and presently is camping at Neel Garath (Ganderbal) on the yatra route. Sources from Rajouri said that the entire routine work specially land and Permanent Resident Certificates (PRCs) cases for which ,according to government directions, action has to be taken within one months, are delayed and the worst suffers are the people. As per sources Davinder Paul Collector Land Acquisition has been authorized by the government to sign the PRCs in favor of residents of Sunderbani and Noushera tehsils and many files are lying pending in the offices of tehsildrs at Noushera and Sunderbani. "About 100 files of PRC cases of have been dispatched to the Office of Collector Land Acquisition and lying in his office for final disposal and about 50 PCR files are ready in his office to be sent. Inhabitants of the tehsil approaching my office daily for the PCRs as many of them require PCR urgently" said Rakesh Sharma, tehsildar Sunderbani while showing his helplessness. Not only the people but the district administration has also been facing lot of difficulties in the absence of Davinder Paul as he has been appointed as Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) for 84-Kalakot Assembly constituency by the Election Commission of India (ECI) and will have to look after the work of revision, correction, deletion etc ahead of the scheduled assembly polls. The Election Commission of India (ECI) has initiated the process for the forthcoming Assembly Elections in J&K and revision, corrections and deletions are urgently required by his office. Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Hemant Kumar Sharma, IAS who is also District Election Officer (DEO) has approached General Administration Department (GAD) for exemption from deployment as Camp Officer (for Davinder Paul) in the month of May as his services required urgently for the 'special summary revision of electoral rolls' in the district n the district. As the DEO didn't receive any intimation from the government/GAD in this regard till today now he has communicated to the Chief Electoral Officer, J&K seeking his intervention in this matter. "We have taken up the matter with the General Administration Department (GAD) to exempt the officer from his duty for Shri Amar Nath ji Yatra. We have also requested the government to authorized a officer so that he can look after the PRC cases," said Hemant Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Rajouri.
