| Rana plays to galleries at Nagrota | | | Early Times Report
NAGROTA, June 22: The National Conference provincial president for Jammu, Devender Singh Rana while addressing a gathering comprising mainly of panchs and sarpanchs in a Nagrota village said that NC does not believe in myopic or partisan politics. Rana, it seems is either feigning ignorance or is playing to galleries for political reasons. NC, history has proved it, was always interested in power. It tendered a written apology to Maharaja Hari Singh in 1947 for power and in 1975 shook hands with its `worst enemies' after sacrificing a 22-year-old movement in lieu of power. In 1986 it forged an alliance with Congress to regain power and became part of to make Omar a junior minister in Vajpayee government. Then the government changed in New Delhi and so did NC's priorities. It joined the UPA. The story does not end here. Political quarters say Omar met Modi in New Delhi recently and sought an alliance with him. Omar, it may be mentioned vehemently opposed Modi during electioneering in Lok Sabha elections. His father Dr Farooq went to the extent of saying that those who vote for Modi must drown in sea. But then politics makes strange bed fellow and when it is NC anything can be expected. Rana is wasting his energies. The people now know NC inside out. However, Rana did the gathering a favour by not talking about the RTI, PSGA, panchayat elections and employment policy. |
