JAMMU, June 22 : At least two persons were killed and four injured in accidents across Jammu region, police here today said. "One person died on the spot while another got seriously injured when a bus JK20-2843, they were travelling in skidded off the road and plunged into 500-feet deep gorge," police spokesman here said. He said that the mishap took place when the driver was negotiating a sharp turn this morning near Haya Chashma in Budhal tehsil of Rajouri district. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Ashraf, 28, son of Gul Mohammad, resident of Kundradhan, Rajouri and the injured was Altaf Hussain, 20, son of Mohammad Din, resident of Kundradhan. Meanwhile in a separate incident, one person died and two sustained injuries when a van JK02AG-6075 met with a tragic road accident on Bhadarwah-Chamba (Himachal Pardesh) road near Khani Top Picnic spot, about 27 KM away from Bhadarwah. "The driver lost his control over the vehicle while negotiating a sharp curve and it plunged into a deep gorge," police said. They said that one person died on the spot while three received injuries and they were shifted to the Sub-District Hospital Bhadarwah. The deceased was identified as driver Abdul Majeed Ganai, son of Mohammad Sultan Ganai, resident of Chinar Mohalla, Bhadarwah. Identity of the injured was ascertained as Shanu, daughter of Menu, resident of Chamba, Himachal Pardesh, Neenu, daughter of Abdul Majeed, resident of Chinar Mohalla, Bhadarwah. |
