| No non-veg food, alcohol, cold drinks during Amarnath yatra:SASB | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, June 22 : Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) has banned all non-vegetarian food, alcohol, cold drinks, sweets, fried and fast food during the two-month-long pilgrimage to holy Amarnath shrine, commencing from June 28 in south Kashmir Himlayas. The board has directed District Magistrates of Ganderbal in central Kashmir and Anantnag in south Kashmir to issue appropriate orders under Ranbir Penal Code (RPC) specifying penalties to be imposed for violation of the Food Menu prescribed by the board for the yatris, undertaking the pilgrimage. The Food Menu shall apply to langar organizations, food stalls, shops and other establishments which come up in the yatra area to serve or sell food to the yatris and service providers. No items mentioned under 'Banned Menu' shall be served, sold and stored by the Langar organizations and other establishments, the SASB said. The banned items included all non-vegetarian foods, alcohol, tobacco, gutka, pan masala, sigaratte, other intoxicants, poori, bathura, pizza, burgar, stuffed parantha, dosa and fried roti, bread- with butter, cream based foods, pickle, chutney, fried papad, chowmein and all other fried and fast food, cold drinks and karrah. |
