| Cong workers caution Azad, Soni, Soz on alliance with NC | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 19: Even as Congress is yet to formally announce decision whether it is ready to forge any alliance with any political party in the run up to the state Assembly polls, majority of the party workers from Jammu district today cautioned top brass from joining hands with NC. "We have tasted defeat during Lok Sabha polls, now we should not repeat this mistake in Assembly polls," the Cong workers cautioned senior party leaders including AICC General Secretary Ambika Soni, PCC Chief Saifudin Soz and leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha Ghulam Nabi Azad. The party leaders while blaming the poor governance as one reason behind poll debacle claimed that NC acted as boss and accorded step-motherly treatment to Congress ministers and party workers whenever they visited them for welfare of their people. The angry Congress workers also blamed their own party ministers for not paying heed to their grievances and ignoring them while in office. Youth leaders blamed senior ministers of ignoring their sentiments and expressed apprehensions over Cong keeping mum and supporting Omar to enhance retirement age of government employees. They said Narendra Modi succeeded in LS polls as he connected with masses especially the youth brigade. |
