| Togadia warns Omar, wants investigation in Baltal scuffle | | | Javaid Naikoo SRINAGAR, July 19: Despite the peaceful resumption of the holy Amarnath Yatra after its suspension on Friday following a scuffle at Baltal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad chief, while warning Chief Minister Omar Abdullah over the incident, has demanded a Central team to investigate the matter and a fast track court to finalise the case. After chaos and commotion following the scuffle between two groups at Baltal on Friday, according to details received Amarnath Yatra resumed peacefully once again today at 10:00 a.m. from both Baltal and Pahalgam routes after its temporary suspension. According to reports, Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Pravin Togadia today demanded that a Central level team should be sent to Kashmir to investigate the Baltal incident and a fast track court should decide the cases pertaining to the said scuffle. Togadia, who was talking to media persons at Indore, warned that 'if Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah fails to take action then he would be responsible for subsequent events' and added that 'If you set Hanuman's tail on fire, Lanka will burn. The Godhra incident led to Gujarat riots and alleged rape of the Hindu girl led to the Muzaffarnagar riots.' Pertinently according to official accounts, after a temporary suspension on Friday, the Amarnath Yatra today once gain resumed from both Baltal and Pahalgam routes. The Yatra was halted Friday following clashes at Baltal after, according to the reports received here, a scuffle broke between a non-local cook in a langar and a local pony operator over the issue of tents and in the scuffle between two groups around 40 people were injured and 300 tents and 10 community langars were torched. According to details received here today, authorities had erected security check posts at many places along the route to stop Baltal-bound pilgrims after the Amarnath Yatra was suspended from the Baltal route. According to officials, the pilgrims have been staying at Manigam transit camp enroute to Baltal and some other places and the situation has returned to normal in Baltal and around 3,000 pilgrims started the pilgrimage towards the Holy Cave at 10 a.m. today from Baltal base camp, besides around hundreds of vehicles carrying pilgrims have been allowed to move towards Baltal from Manigam Transit camp in central Kashmir's Ganderbal District and till last reports were received in this regard, Yatra was proceeding normally from the Pahalgam route. |
