| BJP's `Achay Din' may not work in LA elections | | | Shakeel A Khan
SRINAGAR, July 19: With no visible change on the ground after Modi taking over as the Prime Minister of India, Bhartiya Janta Party ( BJP) may not be able to hold on the voters of J&K in connection with the coming assembly elections Particularly on those who assured its victory on three parliamentary seats in Jammu division. People had voted its candidates to power as they were mislead by the slogans for 'Badlav' (Change) and 'Achay din aane walay hain' (Good days are ahead). It appeared to be the trick of the party to come to the power. Bhartiya Janta Party will find it hard to accomplish its mission 44+.It may even not be able to improve its tally as the people of the state seem to have been let down in almost sixty days of it governance. It will not be easy for the extremist politicians to find a place for themselves in the state particularly in the Kashmir Valley. People of the state are inclined towards the politicians who are secular minded and soft in nature. Experts believe that the time before the assembly elections has provided the people of the state, particularly the ones from the Jammu division with an opportunity to reconsider their decision of supporting the BJP candidates in the coming Assembly elections because they don't want the communal harmony of the state to be disturbed. As per the experts, mission 44+ is a distant reality, BJP even may not be able to become a healthy part of the opposition in the Assembly. The results, as per these experts, will be against the expectations of the party. It is most likely, if not for sure that the BJP may not be able to open its account as far as Kashmir valley is concerned since the people from this division have the complete dislike for the party given its extremist nature. "BJP is the party which has cast its bad shadow by means of its hatred politics. It most probably will not be the choice party for the people to vote for. This party wants to divide the people of the state on the communal lines," Said Mohammad Ibrahim from Srinagar while talking to Early Times. Ibrahim went on saying that the statements of the leaders of the Bhartiya Janta Party, which are communal in nature, continue to pour in particularly after coming to power in the center. As per Ibrahim, the secular minded people of the state are not going to digest these statements. "It is the fact that there are no takers for the BJP in the state especially in the Kashmir Valley because there is no scope for the extremism, in one form or the other and the daydreaming of the party to come to the power will not come true," said some people at Budgam while sharing their ideas with the Early Times. |
