Weather remains pleasant in Kashmir, more rain predicted

Srinagar, July 19 : Weather remained pleasant in the Kashmir valley, where the maximum and minimum temperatures were below normal and sky remained cloudy.
A spokesman of the Meteorological department said here this afternoon that there could be light to moderate rain or thundershowers at few places in Jammu and isolated places in the Kashmir valley and Ladakh region during the next 24 hours. He said there could be increase in rainfall activity in Jammu division during the subsequent four days.
Weather remained pleasant because of cloudy sky and below normal maximum and minimum temperature in the Kashmir valley, providing much needed relief to people who are observing fast.In summer capital, Srinagar, the maximum temperature was 29.5 degree, a notch below normal yesterday, he said adding the minimum temperature was also more than two degree below normal.He said the sky will remain cloudy tomorrow and temperatures would be below normal. However, at Leh in Ladakh region the sky will remain mainly clear and the maximum and minimum temperatures would be around 26 degree and 18 degree respectively
