| Despite imposition of fines, use of polythene is rampant at Samba | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 6: Despite imposition of fine on the use of polythene carry bags by the shopkeepers but this mal practice is still going on in the district of Samba. On seeing the increasing environment threat, government had banned the use of the polythene bags. In order to implement the law against the polythene used by the shopkeeper, hawkers, and other venders in the market government had also fined to some of them and sealed the huge stock of the polythene bags. During this campaign the notified committees of some blocks like Ramgarh, Vijaypur, Samba etc had done a commendable task and the shopkeepers, hawkers had completely wiped out the use of polythene for selling their commodities. But after a gap some period the shopkeepers and others had again started to use the polythene bags so it is seeming that administration had turned its deaf era towards this menace . So the use of polythene is at its full swing in the market is of the same kind problem emerging in the environment again. |
