| Police register case against Kuka Parrey's son | | For assaulting lady doctor at Hajin | | Syed Tahir Bukhari BANDIPORA, Aug 6: Jammu and Kashmir Police registered a case against the son of deceased Ikhwani and Congress leader for assaulting a lady doctor on duty at Sub-District Hospital Hajin in North Kashmir's Bandipora district. According to sources that a lady doctor (name withheld) at Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Hajin on Tuesday night at around 11:30 pm when she was on night duty, a man entered into the hospital and directed her to accompany him to see his ailing mother. Eyewitnesses told Early Times that Congress activist Imtiyaz Ahmad Parray lost his state of mind when a lady doctor on night duty at Sub District Hospital Hajin refused to accompany him during late hours to see his mother. Hospital staff wishing not to be named said that Parray not only abused the lady doctor but also slapped her and threatened her of dire consequences. "The man who later identified himself as the Congress leader Imtiyaz Parrey son of Kuka Parray resident of Sonawari Sumbal threatened her of dire consequences when she refused to accompany during late hours. According to staff members that, "she asked one of her subordinates to accompany Imtiyaz to see his ailing mother but the Congress leader not only abused but assaulted her physically," the staff members said. According to the lady doctor that Imtiyaz Reshi stooped so low, "he slapped me and pulled my hair. I wept and in a fit of rage, hit him with my chapel, she said adding that it was a nightmare for her to confront an 'obnoxious' male member during the late hours. The lady doctor added that she informed Station House Officer Hajin on phone but Parray soon after that went to police station and complained against me. "I am not feeling safe and want justice. I feel that some police officials of Hajin are supporting Parray as the police have also registered a case against me as well. "I fail to understand what I did to the assailant and for what a case have been registered against me," under rules a lady can't venture out from the hospital during night duty the lady doctor said. According to police official that, "We have registered an FIR (83/2014) and a counter FIR (84/2014) in this regard at police station Sumbal." However, a top medical official said that no doctor can move out of the hospital premises during duty hours. "It is obligatory for the attendant to bring the patient into the hospital. "I have directed the concerned authorities to constitute a committee to ascertain the facts," medical official said. |
