Kathua, Aug 6: Raising their voice the residents of W-4 of Billawar in Kathua district demanded from the state Government to provide an effective and permanent link to them by constructing culverts and small bridge over the Naj and Bini Nallah.
Protestors staging protest under the leadership of Advocate Jatinder Singh Badwal amid anti government slogans staged protest in support of their demands. Addressing the protestors Advocate Badwal said the ward is surrounded with two local nallahs named as "Naj and Bini" which during rainy season pose threat to the lives of more than 50 families who often have to cross through these rivulets for their livelihood and routine life.
He said majority of residents of the ward are laborers and farmers by profession and their agriculture land is lost to the flash flood because of erosion. "The District administration, political leaders though are well aware of their problems yet has not acted for the cause of people who often get marooned during flood like situations in rainy season every year, he added.
