| Govt has waged war against contractors: JKCCCC alleges | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Aug 6: The civil contractors in Kashmir today alleged the government of waging a war against them. Apex body of the contractors, J&K Central Contractors Coordination Committee during a meeting in a local hotel here flayed the government for its "anti-development and anti-economic policies towards the Kashmir region." The meeting, chaired by JKCCCC general secretary, Farooq Ahmad Dar, observed that government is more concerned with development of Jammu region manifested in various development works in Kashmir pending their completion period. Dar said that treasuries are running dry and government has the guts to tender fresh development works. "Like the previous times the state government this time too wants to divert the funds to Jammu," alleged Dar. He criticized the government for waging a war against the Valley based contractors whose condition could not have turned worse than the way they were made to crave for a single penny to celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr recently. "The present government has become a nuisance for economic development of Kashmir region….Just to keep their bosses in Delhi happy they are focusing much on Jammu region. "There are various development works pending completion and work on others has stopped as the treasury department hasn't a single penny to pay to us," stressed Dar. |
