| Woman alongwith child jumps into Chenab | | | Banihal, Aug 6: An unidentified woman along with a child today jumped into river Chenab in Matria area of Ramban three kilo meters away from Ramban town.
Police sources from Ramban said that at 10:30 am Police received a message from Maitra area of Ramban that a woman (yet not identified) alongwith her child jumped into river Chenab. “Soon after the message locals, police and District Red Cross launched a joint rescue operation but even after a daylong rescue cum search operation no trace of the duo was found.
Police sources said that police have also inform to police station Dharam Kund some 25 kms away from Ramban at downstream have also been deputed for tracing out the bodies from river Chenab.
Police have registered a case in this connection at Police Station Ramban u/s 309 while search operation for fishing out bodies were on along the river Chenab till last report came in. |
