| Congress, NC accuse BJP for weak response to Pak's game plan | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 6: Congress leadership in Jammu and Kashmir has accused BJP led NDA Government for weak policy in its dealing with repeated ceasefire violations being committed by the Pakistani troops on the LOC and the IB in the state. Leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Ghulam Nabi Azad, has said that it was a matter of amazement that when the BJP was in the opposition it used to blame the Congress led UPA Government for having adopted spineless policy towards ceasefire violations by Pak forces on Jammu Kashmir's border. "What has been the BJP led NDA Government doing for the last two months ?" Azad has posed this question to BJP leaders, especially Prime Minister, Narendra Modi. Azad has said that during the last two months Pak troops have resorted to over 27 ceasefire violations on the LOC and the IB in Jammu and Kashmir. These ceasefire violations, according to Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, have resulted in damage to houses and death to cattle besides forcing people to undergo various difficulties. In fact both Omar and Azad feel upset over the difficulties being faced by people in the border villages as they are gripped by scare. It is the outcome of this realization that both the Congress and the NC leadership have suggested to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to take up the issue of ceasefire violations with Pakistan Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif. Till then the issue needs to be raised by India during the upcoming foreign secretary level talks. |
