| NDF, Childline in association with police rescue minor boy | | | Jammu, Aug 6: National Development Foundation (NDF) Jammu and Childline District Red Cross Jammu in association with Pacca Danga Police Station rescued a four year old boy from C-18, Radio Colony Panjtirthi Jammu. According to Rajiv Khajuria Chief Functionary NDF, the organization received a telephonic complaint from an unknown caller that a four year old child is immorally trafficked and used as child labour by a lady in C-18, Radio Colony Jammu. NDF referred the case to Childline Jammu and Mrs Manjiri Singh from Childline and a joint team from NDF and Childline approached Pacca Danga Police Station in this regard. "The members apprised the concerned SHO S Daljeet Singh with the issue who taking cognizance in this regard provided them two police officers in civil dress in view of JJ Act. The team jointly rescued the child. The police handed over the child to Childline and tomorrow further legal course of action will be initiated. "The child during interaction briefed that he used to work for the lady and the lady under reference also loved him, quoting the rescued child stated the NDF president. Meanwhile neighbours inform that the child was handed over to this lady by a maid in the month of December- January and the uncle of the child who was his caretaker was demanding money from the lady in lieu of the child, the statement said. It also added that some injury marks were also found on the arm of the child which as per child was inflicted during bashing by his parental uncle. |
