Jammu, Aug 6: To check the operational preparedness of all the manpower, mobility of troops, proper liaison and communication between different agencies and coordination on ground, District Police Samba headed by Anil Magotra, SP, Samba assisted by Suram Singh, Addl. SP Samba conducted Mock drill of Curfew Plan in Sub-Divisions Vijaypur and Bari-Brahmna which was already drafted to tackle law and order situations. Manpower from Police Stations, Police Posts, District Police Lines Samba as well as 17th Bn. of Armed Police fully equipped with Riot control equipments were deployed at all the important points including Chowks, Vital Installations, Religious Places, Minority Pockets and other important interceptions on National Highway with a view to keep Police personnel well aware about their role during enforcement of Curfew to be ordered by District Administration in time of exigency. During the course of said mock drill which was held in the morning today, all the entry points leading towards the main markets of Vijaypur and Bari-Brahmna were plugged and reaction time of the Police was observed. Proper briefing about their role and action in dealing with law & order problems and during enforcement of curfew was imparted to the manpower deployed for the purpose through concerned Supervisory Officers/SHOs. All the sister agencies working in the area as well as general public of area were informed well in advance about said mock drill to avoid any panic. Army from 92 Infantry Brigade Bari-Brahmna was also called and participated in the said mock drill. Communication system available with the troops deployed on important points was also checked. |
