Kathua, Aug 6: Demanding ban on industries falling under Red category of pollution in Kathua industrial area, a deputation of locals led by Ex-Vice president of Kathua Municipal Council and president of the Anti Pollution Movement Kathua, S Mahinder Singh called on Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kathua at his chamber and submitted a memorandum in this regard.
Mahinder Singh apprised Deputy Commissioner Kathua Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary that pollution has been increased in the entire Kathua due to the operation of industries allegedly polluting the surrounding and the health of people living in and around Hatli Morh, Govindsar, and Sawan Chack areas. He also that the Anti Pollution Movement has held many meetings with Kathua administration and higher ups but no result could be seen so far
Meanwhile, Ex-president of KMC, Naresh Sharma who was also present in the deputation demanded the passing of Bus service through Parliwand, and Mukharji Chowk for providing the better transport facilities to a big population of the Kathua.
After giving a patient hearing to deputation, the DC Kathua assured to take a positive and result oriented measures to address the issues. |
