| Locals and pilgrims resent 'restrictions' on visit to Mangla Mata Temple | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, Aug 6: Within claims and counter claims over Kousar Naag yatra, another controversy has erupted over alleged change of route for the annual Budda Amarnath Yatra in Jammu Division by sideling visit to holy Mangal Mata Temple in Seri area of Nowsehra tehsil by the order of authorities at helm of affairs. Since last many days various Hindu organizations have been criticizing the authorities for stopping Baba Budha Amarnathji yatra to visit Mangla Mata temple near line of Control (LoC) in Noushera tehsil. The authorities have stopped the yatra to Mangal Mata on security grounds and advised the organizers to follow the traditional route from Jammu to Sunderbani, Rajouri then to Poonch via Surankot where the security forces have been deployed for the safety of the yatris. Locals said that like past year though Army has deployed two soldiers at every link road on Jammu-Poonch highway from Bhambla to Poonch who are fully trained and equipped with modern gadgets to counter any misadventure from miscreants yet district authorities have taken a step to hurt sentiments of particular community. Reliable intelligence sources said that the yatra to Mangla Mata shrine was stopped after some inputs that the anti-national elements may organize attack on the yatris. Local and the pilgrims alleged either the authorities have no faith in their security cover or they intentionally are hurting sentiments of particular community by one or the other pretext. Meanwhile sources said that security forces and intelligence agencies have been keeping an close watch on the movement of anti national/anti-social elements specially from Kallar Chowk to Bhimber Gali (BG) entry point to Poonch district after an inputs that terrorists have been making several attempts to breach the LoC/fence in this bordering belt of twin border districts- Rajouri and Poonch. They added that there are many traditional infiltration routes in this area which include, Chitti bakri, Dunga Gala, Keri, Nambla, Plulian , Ghambhir, Tarkundi, Kanaga Gali etc and several infiltration bids have been foiled along this porous belt. Security forces and the senior police officers are of the view that it is impossible for any intruder to breach the cordons of the army to reach Jammu-Poonch highway to disturb the ensuing Budha Amarnathji yatra. |
