JKGBC demands relief for Gujjar, Bakarwal

Jammu, Oct 13: Jammu Kashmir Gujjar Bakarwal Conference (JKGBC) today held a meeting under the chairmanship of its State President Haji Mohd Yaqoob and discussed the problems of Gujjars and Bakarwal particularly after the recent incessant and torrential rains resulting into floods all over the state.
Members of JKGBC castigated the administration for ignoring the Gujjars and Bakarwal who are the worst sufferer of the floods and rains Haji Mohd Yaqoob has said that thousands of Gujjar in the hilly areas are still untraceable and their houses and cattle have also perished. He alleged that no step has been taken to take stock of the loss suffered by Gujjars and Bakarwals and no team has visited their areas. The District President Jammu Amir-ud-Din Kasana has alleged that even in the vicinity of Jammu City in Nagrota in some villages like Mewali, Sandori, Khanna Chargal, Mela and Sandi.
The leaders of the conference demanded immediate relief to the affected people as the winter in approaching fast and the people have no shelters to protect themselves.
