32 rounded up by police, FSL, post-mortem reports yet to come | Death mystery of Divya Manhas | | ET Report JAMMU, Oct 13: In the latest development of mysterious death of Divya Manhas, Channi Himmat police has rounded up 32 suspects, who were in close touch with her, after going through her Call Detail Record (CDR). If police sources are to be believed, though hundreds of persons made calls to her but these 32 persons had long conversations with her. Sources said many of the 32 persons, whom police had rounded up, allegedly belonged to the families of politicians, bureaucrats, police officers, businessmen and journalists. The drive on the part of police was in progress to lift the 32. Sources said that as far as FSL and postmortem reports are concerned, these are yet to be received by police for further investigation, the sources added. The name of Divya Manhas had hit headlines after she was arrested by Channi Himmat police with three boys for indulging in "undesirable activities", last year. Pertinently, Channi Police started investigation after the girl died late night a few days ago, after she was shifted in serious condition to the Government Medical College, Jammu, for treatment by her family members. According to reports, the girl returned home late night after attending a party. Her condition suddenly got deteriorated around 2 am and her family members shifted her to GMCH for treatment, where she failed to respond to the treatment and breathed her last. The doctors attending on her found some injection marks on her arms which suggest that she might have taken drugs and an overdose can be a reason for her death. The matter was informed to the police which rushed to the spot and took the body into its custody. The body after autopsy was handed over to the family members for last rites. A case in this regard was registered with the police and further investigation was on. |
