Woman allegedly cheated, raped on pretext of job by bank officer | Arrest warrant against Bakshi Nagar police station SHO for allegedly shielding accused | | Sumit Sharma JAMMU, Oct 13: The alleged case of cheating and rape of a woman by a bank manager took a twist today when Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Jammu, issued arrest warrant against Station House Officer (SHO) of Bakshi Nagar police station, Daleep Singh Billowria after he found him guilty in the contempt of court. The court issued summons against the SHO following the allegations that defying court's direction he was shielding the accused.He was directed to appear before court on 31/10/2014. Earlier, he was summoned on 26/09/2009 but he did not appear before court. Later, court fixed hearing on 13/10/2014 and this time again he did not appear before court. Taking cognizance of the matter, the court issued no- bailable warrant against him. The alleged case of rape and cheating came to limelight when the victim, a resident of Rehari Colony knocked the doors of court and lodged complaint, alleging therein that the bank officer namely Rajesh Sharma of Patoli Mangotrian, fraudulently took an amount of Rs 3 lakh from her in the month of Feburary,2013 on the promise of getting her appointed on a Class 1V post in J&K bank. Thereafter, whenever she approached the accused, he allegedly outraged her modesty and assured her for the job. One day, he called her at Rehari Colony and alleged asked her to accompany a senior bank employee. When she realized that she had been cheated economically and physically, she lodged a complaint with the court which then directed Police Station Bakshi Nagar to register a case in this connection under sections 376, 420 and 506 of RPC after proper investigation under section 156 (3) of CrPC. When she approached the Police Station to know about the investigation of her case, she was allegedly shown the thumb, forcing her to again move court to know the status report of the investigation. The court then issued summons against the SHO Bakshi Nagar. The SHO informed court that he had not received the court notice. After SHO's refusal, the aggrieved put the receipt bearing the seal and signature of the police station before the court following which court initiated contempt proceedings against the SHO. |
