| Jhiri mela arrangements reviewed | | |  Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 13: Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Ajeet Kumar Sahu today convened a meeting with officers and members of Mela Committee to review the arrangements for the Jhiri Mela.
MLA Marh, Sukhnandan Choudhary, SSP Traffic Jammu, Pawan Parihar ADC Kalyan Singh, RTO Jammu Arvind Kotwal, ACG Shenaz Choudhary, ACD Jammu K. K. Sidha other senior officers of concerned departments were also present in the meeting.
The annual fair which attracts devotees from various parts of the country shall commence from November 5th to 13th and elaborate arrangements for the convenience of the devotees were discussed in detail during the meeting. Deputy Commissioner stressed on synergy between different departments for ensuring adequate arrangements for the smooth conduct of Jhiri Mela.
It was disclosed in the meeting that Sub Divisional Magistrate Marh shall be the Mela Officer for the event.
He directed the functionaries of R&B to ensure the repair and improvement works for the convenience of the devotees.
He asked the PHE Department to ensure uninterrupted water supply with provision for additional water tanks, hand pumps and sprinklers for cleaning of venue.
He also instructed Power Department to ensure proper lighting arrangements in addition to un-interrupted power supply at the venue throughout the mela days. |
