| Weavers, artisans stage protest against Assistant Director | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 13: Angered over alleged discrimination with Jammu region, Weavers and Artisans of the Jammu province today protested against Assistant Director weavers service center J&K for announcing a list of exhibiters selected from the Kashmir province only ignoring, weavers and artisans of Jammu and Ladakh province.
The protesters alleged that Jammu province wearers and artisans have been always given a step motherly treatment by the Assistant Director weavers service center Srinagar in giving us chance to participated in such exhibitions.
Further none of the schemes approved and announced by Government of India for the benefit of weavers and Artisans like tie and dye, weavers training programs ,design devlopment know how etc have not been promoted and implemented in Jammu province.
More ever weavers service center at Nowshera Kashmir is for away and in accessible to weavers and artisans living in far flung Areas of Jammu are not able to visit this office for fulfilling their requirements and make aware of the weaver and Artisans benefit programs announced by the government. |
