JKMTCA criticizes exorbitant unloading charges in Kashmir Province | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 13: All J&K Motor Transport Companies Association (JKMTCA) today discussed the burning problems of truck operators and demanded and appropriate actions from Government. Addressing a press conference, President Surinder Singh Kala said that overloading from Jammu Rail Head and other points is the most damaging factor causing Roads Sliding and damages to National highway. "Overloading has become the routine matter with the convenience of officials of Sales Tax & Excise at Rail Head, Toll post," he said. Unloading at FCI Godown at Kashmir Province is the most problematic cause for transporters as the unloading charges have arisen three times more. He alleged that transport industry being a Back Bone of our state has not been taken in any confidence while reaching to any conclusion in previous decisions at this time of crises. Damages caused to Transport vehicles like Trucks and other vehicles in recent floods is a great concern of agony as no one from Government has come forward to assess the looses and other problem to poor transporters. |
