Suchetgarh, Oct 13: Social worker and retired SSP, Bhupinder Singh today sought special attention of state as well as centre government for wellbeing of farmer community of border areas. According to press release, Singh visited Dewangarh, Hansa, Mana, Magowali, Jad, Fatehpur Bhramana and Agra-Chak Villages of Suchetgarh Assembly Constituency and interacted with the farmers of these areas. Drawing attention of state and centre government towards damage caused by the wind which hit several parts of the state, Singh demanded adequate compensation for affected farmers and other vegetable growers. He also urged the state government to come forward to help the affected farmers, as the impact of winds was so strong that it badly ruined the crop, rendering heavy financial loss to the farming community.Singh further said that state government has to protect the interests of farming community and it would not be compromised at any cost. "It is the farmers who doing such an incredible job of producing, feeding and serving the nation. Agriculture is the backbone of the Indian economy", Singh said, adding that food security in India rests heavily on the Public Distribution System (PDS) and the PDS itself cannot be operated unless farmers are given enough support so that they could continue to produce. |
