DGP visits north Kashmir, reviews security scenario

Srinagar, Oct 13: Stressing for collective efforts by all units to regain the pace of professional policing affected by the floods, the Director General of Police, K. Rajendra Kumar has called upon various ranks of JKP to have regular monitoring of police functioning.
Rajendra was addressing a meeting of District Superintendents of Police of north Kashmir at Range Headquarters Baramulla today. The meeting was held to review the security, law and order, crime scenario and election preparedness. The meeting also discussed post flood police functioning in the range.
Deputy Inspector General of Police NKR, G. H. Bhat also attended the meeting. Rajendra stressed upon the officers to maintain close coordination between different agencies to ensure law and order in their respective jurisdictions.
DGP sought reports with regard to over all security scenario, law and order, anti-militancy operations and crime status in the Range. Through power point presentation, District Superintendents of Police Baramulla, Sopore, Handwara, Kupwara and Bandipore apprised the meeting about the situation and progress achieved on different fronts in their respective districts.
DIG, NKR Baramulla, briefed the DGP about the overall situation in the range and the damages suffered due to recent floods.
He briefed the Police Chief about the post flood police functioning and pace of restoration in the range. DGP asked the officers to consolidate the damages, losses to the properties of the department and submit the same to PHQ for reconstruction and replacement.
He assured that the damaged infrastructures and equipments would be restored on priority.
