Civic employees protest for 'roughing up' their female colleague

Jammu, Oct 13: A large number of civic employees under the banner of Civic Safaikaramchari Union staged protest against some persons who alleged have roughed up the lady civic employees posted at Patoli Magotrian situated at outskirts of Jammu city.
Led by president Civic Safaikaramchari Union Rinku Gill a large number of civic employees assembled here today at Patoli Magotrian main road and staged demanding justice to the lady employee who was roughed and misbehaved some person on the said locality. Amid slogans against one Magotra family residing in the area, the civic employees demanded action against the 'said family' which according to the protestors, has roughed up Romesh -the lady civic worker of the area. Protestors alleged that the family head after having some arguments with the lady civic worker over a civic issue not only abused but also thrashed her. "When the lady and her family protested this, son of the accused also jumped in and rouged up the lady and his family members, one of the protestors alleged.
"We are working for the cause of the people but we aren't here to listen the rubbish from them, he added. Meanwhile Rinku Gill while addressing the protestors said civic employees are humans too and have self respect and dignity and demanded strict action against the accused persons. Later senior Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), officials rushed to spot and pacified the protestors who after getting assurance from them lifted their protest. Meanwhile the reports said that concerned police taking action in this regard has lifted some members of family alleged for misbehaving with a lady civic employee. Reports also added that the family members offered 'apology' to the lady and then the matter was resolved. Besides president Civic Safaikaramchari Union Rinku Gill, senior advisor gernail Khokhar and other participated in this protest.
