Natrang to stage play on Bawa Jitto on Nov 5, 6 | | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 4: Natrang the premier performing arts institution of J&K is going to organise mega theatrical show on the supreme sacrifice of Dogra folk legend Bawa Jitto at Jhiri Mela-2014 on 5th and 6th of November, 2013 at the main stage of Jhiri. The show timings will be 7:00 PM on both of these days. This was informed here on today by the Natrang Director Padamshree Balwant Thakur at Natrang Studio Theatre that staging of Bawa Jitto at is going to be the ultimate attraction of Jhiri Mela. Natrang has been organising the shows of Bawa Jitto for the last nine years at Jhiri Mela which have been witnessed by lakhs of people. The mega theatre show of Natrang is supported by the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board and District Administration, Jammu. This is a rarest opportunity for the audience to live through a six hundred year old saga in memory of which this festival is held every year since ages. He thanked Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board for giving sustenance support to this globally acclaimed play which is now being performed regularly since last 29 years and has now created the history for being the longest living theatre production of the country. Balwant Thakur also thanked District Development Commissioner Jammu Ajeet Kumar Sahu for extending full cooperation and logistic support for holding of this event of Natrang. Giving further details Balwant Thakur said that people from all over the North India throng to the venue and this opportune moment has to be fully utilised by showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the region through the presentation of the play Bawa Jitto. |
