Inquiry report of CAPD carriage scam awaited | Allegedly tainted Rajouri AD shifted to Reasi | | Mohammad Irfan Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 4: The 2009-2011 infamous Rajouri carriage scam worth Rs 44 cr which had come to fore when some CAPD employees were found depositing Rs one cr in a bank in a hush- hush manner. On the deposit slip, an amount of Rs 2 cr was mentioned. This had created suspicion in the mind of bank employees and investigating agencies. Official sources said three years down the line, the investigating agency (Crime Branch) had not concluded the investigation, following which CAPD AD, Rajouri, Kewal Krishan, who was alleged to be involved in the whole episode, has got a posting in Reasi. "As the authorities know that the inquiry report is going to come shortly, the AD is transferred to Reasi by the higher authorities to give him benefit," sources alleged, saying he enjoyed good relations with his seniors who matter a lot in the corridors of power. Sources said the crime branch had completed the inquiry and submitted it to the concerned quarters. The further process got delayed due to the transfer of crime branch SSP to New Delhi. When contacted, CAPD director G S Chib gave assurance that within a week the inquiry report would be made public. It got delayed due to floods, he added. Asked why tainted officials were being given choice postings, he said the orders were being issued from the secretariat. |
